"Get the fuck away from my car or I'll shoot."
I didn't hesitate to slide my hand into the camel colored saddle bag hanging across my body. I was too tired to be scared and I really did plan on shooting this nigga if he didn't get the fuck on.
"Come on now Lexi, I won't bite, unless you want me to", the stranger said with the same smirk on his face that he gave me inside the restaurant.
"How the fuck do you know my name?" I asked, trying not to let panic seep into my voice. He still hadn't moved away from my car and I put my hand on the trigger, ready to pull out Sunshine.
In an instant, he was in front of me. Teeth bared, his eyes began to glow and any fear I tried to hide was now written all over my face.
"There, there beautiful. You need not worry, I really don't plan to bite, unless you want me to. And trust me, by the end of the night, you'll be begging me for it."
"Who... what are you?" I stammered, trying to back away slowly but with each step I took, he took one as well.
"The name is Creed, and I guess you could call me your personal guardian."
"Guardian? Nigga, your eyes are glowing and you sniffing me like I'm your next meal."
There was no other way for me to add space between us, and I took a moment to really look at the man in front of me. No lie, he was handsome. If the circumstances were different, I'd definitely give the nigga a little play. He could have been Aldis Hodge's twin. But now wasn't the time to let my pussy turn me into a fool.
"If I eat you, you'll love it."
"Fuck you!" I said snidely. I pushed my way past Creed and hurried inside my car, making sure to not look back.
I reached down to grab my phone and by the time I looked up, he was in my car.
"What the fuck!"
"Come on now Lexi, aren't you glad to see me?" Creed laughed and instructed me to drive.
"Where are we going?" I asked shakily.
"We're going home, my love." Creed leaned over to buckle my seatbelt, lightly grazing my hand and a compilation of memories flooded my mind. But the memories, didn't seem to be mine. Somehow, I could see tiny pieces of Creed's past. What terrified me was the intense longing for blood.
I'd been taken hostage by a vampire.
My thoughts began to race and I could not believe what was happening.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it."
"How did you..."
I glanced at him without finishing my sentence. Of course this nigga could read my mind. He was a vampire.
"Damn! So let me guess, you have all the stereotypical powers of a vampire?"
"Something like that. I have a reflection though, so I know the ladies love what they see. Reading minds is just a perk of the position." He replied with a smile.
"Nigga don't play with me. Now ain't the time. You still haven't told me where we're going."
"I did tell you. We're going home. To OUR home. The one that instantly called to you the moment your body touched mine."
He reached out to move a stray hair from my face, and more memories flooded my senses. I could smell cinnamon and citrus around us. Laughter was in the distance and there was a calmness about the vision that made me relax. I didn't know where we were going, but my body did. My brain seemed to have shifted into autopilot, and my memories took us to a place I had only seen in my dreams.
Or at least what I thought was a dream.
The house we pulled up to was hauntingly beautiful. The property was huge. Large trees lined the security gate, ensuring additional coverage around the land. A familiar scent of pine needles wafted through the air, and I could tell the area was heavily guarded.
Creed looked composed as he typed in the pin to open the gate.
"What the fuck..." I whispered to myself, taking in the view.
Creed stayed silent for the moment, watching my every move.
"This has been ours for centuries, love. Your dreams have been memories, and they have led me back to you."
"I... I don't understand..."
Creed grabbed my hand and I allowed him to lead me. There was no need to fight right now. I knew by taking his hand, things would be different forever.
